Eleshia Simms-Harris is a filmmaker, currently based in Dallas, Texas. She began her journey as a performer in her hometown, Flint before moving to Chicago to pursue her dreams. Eleshia Simms-Harris is a BA graduate from The Illinois Institute of Art-Chicago. Her inspiration comes from her experience as a Producer’s Assistant for independent films, working on movie sets, and curating social events during college. As an African American queer filmmaker dealing with depression, anxiety, and post-trauma-stress disorder. Her work illustrates the generational tether of trauma focusing on mental health and intersexual equality, often featuring black indigenous people of color.

Eleshia strives to create and produce transformative experiences that promote living your truth through the art of storytelling. She is currently working towards her health and life coaching certification as she pioneer towards a holistic lifestyle.
